How do I install SAYA?
Open the DMG you downloaded, drag SAYA into your Applications folder and open it from there.
macOS asks before opening SAYA. Is that normal?
Yes. SAYA is notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. The first time, macOS confirms that you want to open an app downloaded from the internet: choose Open. If macOS says it can’t open SAYA, open System Settings › Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway and confirm.
How do I update SAYA?
Download the new DMG from the download page and replace SAYA in your Applications folder. Your scripts and settings stay on your Mac.
Microphone
SAYA can’t hear me. What should I check?
SAYA needs microphone access. The first time it listens, macOS asks: choose Allow. If you declined, open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, turn SAYA on, then reopen SAYA.
Where is my speech processed?
English speech recognition runs entirely on your Mac, using models installed with the app. SAYA never sends your voice audio off your Mac. Audio recording is off by default.
Your first talk
How do I run my first talk?
Write your script in SAYA or import plain text, RTF, Word, OpenDocument, a PDF with selectable text or PowerPoint speaker notes. Then speak at your own pace: SAYA follows your voice and keeps your place on screen. Before a talk, the readiness rows in the controls window show anything that could stop or spoil it, with one button where a button helps.
Why did SAYA pause?
SAYA pauses when your place is uncertain or when it hears another voice, and says why in one calm line. Return to your script and keep speaking. If it says “Paused: SAYA heard another voice — press Space to go on.”, press Space.
Activation
Where do I enter my license key?
In SAYA, open Settings › Account, paste the key from your purchase email and click “Activate”.
How many Macs can I use?
Each seat is one active Mac: Pro has one, and Team has one for each paid member. To move to a new Mac, use “Remove this Mac” on the old one first.
Refunds and withdrawal
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel renewal in the billing portal. Paid access continues until the end of the paid period. EU consumers can request a full refund within 14 days of receiving the app, including after activation.
Requirements
Which Macs does SAYA run on?
macOS 14+ · Apple silicon. The app interface and speech recognition are English-only. Activating SAYA needs an internet connection.
